Welcome to Ghar Hisab ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the financial and household information you entrust to us. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application and related web services collect, store, and safeguard your data.

1. Information We Collect

Ghar Hisab collects only the minimal necessary data to provide seamless, real-time shared household accounting:

• Account & Identity Anonymous Firebase Authentication User Identifier (UID) or basic profile name and household relation designation (e.g. "Head", "Mom", "Brother") chosen by you. We do not require social logins or invasive personal profiles.
• Household Ledger Data Expense titles, transaction amounts, payment methods (Cash, UPI, Card), expense categories (Groceries, Maid, Milk, Bills, Rent), timestamps, and household monthly budget limits.
• Staff & Udhar Records Maid, cook, or household staff names, monthly salary figures, advance payment logs, salary payment dates, and payment history.
• Grocery Checklist Item names, estimated prices, and purchase checklist statuses.
• Notice Board Posts Household announcements, category tags, timestamps, and member poll/comment responses.
• Crashlytics & Diagnostics Anonymous device hardware model, OS version, and crash stack traces via Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose and fix app stability bugs.

2. Device Permissions Used & Why

• Camera & Gallery (CAMERA / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES): Used exclusively when you choose to scan a paper handwritten grocery list using on-device Google ML Kit OCR text recognition. Images are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded, stored, or sold to remote ad servers.
• Push Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to deliver timely notifications to your household members when new announcements are published, groceries are added, or staff salary due dates approach.
• Local Storage (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used when you explicitly choose to export your household ledger data as a local CSV spreadsheet or JSON backup file.

3. How We Use Your Information

All data collected is used solely for core app functionalities:

• Synchronizing shared household accounts across all family members in real time.
• Calculating monthly spending trends and category budget alerts.
• Maintaining staff salary history and reminders for salary due dates.
• Providing backup and restore capabilities so you never lose your family accounts.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Cloud Firestore with SSL/TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. Multi-user households are strictly partitioned by unique 6-character household invite tokens and Firestore security rules to ensure that only authorized family members can view your ledger.

5. Third-Party Services & No Advertising

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data. Ghar Hisab contains zero third-party advertising networks. We utilize the following Google Firebase infrastructure components:

• Google Firebase Authentication: For secure session management.
• Google Cloud Firestore: For encrypted real-time cloud sync.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): For background notifications.
• Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics: For crash monitoring and performance diagnostics.

6. Data Deletion & User Rights

You have full ownership of your household data at all times:

• You can delete individual transactions, grocery items, notices, or staff entries at any time directly in the app.
• You can export a full copy of your data (CSV/JSON) via the Settings screen.
• To request a complete deletion of your household data from our servers, you can delete the household in Settings or contact our support team at shashankshah042@gmail.com.

7. Children's Privacy

Ghar Hisab does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Our application is designed as a household management tool for family units.
